Year 1 and Year 2 Teaching and Learning Showcase

February 2021

We love coming to school in our pyjamas! Can you spot the monster slippers?

We've been looking at natural objects in our surroundings in Science and decided to use them in maths to help us learn all about the importance of place value.

Our incredible writing is definitely worthy of showcasing. Sentence structures, punctuation and grammar are all progressing rapidly.

Wow! Maths is awesome and by using Numicon we have been able to explore and deepen our understanding of greater than, less than and equal to.

Safer Internet Day 2021 involved our students becoming teachers and have produced some pleasant posters that were published around school to help support our EYFS to become SMART.

Making memories is an important part of our lives and during lockdown it has become more prevalent. Joe Wicks, Zoom, Thursdays claps, washing hands and keeping 2metres apart as well as TikTok will all be just a memory one day.

The Queen's hat has gone missing and our Y1 & Y2 class have been reporting on the incident. As newspaper reporters, they have questioned, witnessed and written about the event.

SNAP! BANG! WHALLOP! They have been investigating sounds around the house as part of Music, Science and English understanding onomatopoeia and how it is used in our everyday lives.

November 2020

We helped raise money for Children in Need by dressing up in our own clothes and donating towards the charity.

October 2020

We gathered around our class campfire with Grandma Fantastic and collected wonderful vocabulary for our story.

We had lots of fun using base ten and playing with number.

We worked really hard to sort 3D and 2D shapes using practical Venn diagrams.

We had a fantastic time on Grandad's Ship!

We enjoyed an Autumn walk around school investigating seasonal changes.

We used freeze frames to depict our story.  We had so much fun!  Can you spot the tallest tree?

We love Friday afternoons singing and dancing with our music teacher Mr Martin.
