Bowness Community Primary School

World Book Day 2017

Once again, we had a fantastic day for World Book Day this year. The theme was Alice in Wonderland and pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite character.

World Book Day is all about promoting the love of reading and books. Mrs Unsworth said, “We wanted the children to enjoy the experience and use the film and books to recreate, compare and explore parts of the narrative through reading and writing. We even recreated the Mad Hatter’s tea party at lunch time in the hall.

“Our school is a community school and it was lovely to see so many parents attend our assemblies and join in with our parade. Also some parents attended craft making sessions throughout the week to support the children in decorating the hall.

“All the staff made a great effort and I couldn’t be prouder as a headteacher.”

The Bolton News visited us and we ended up with a full page article all about our adventures in wonderland.
